Sandals Vow Renewals: Celebrate Your Marriage

Here is something I have noticed after years of booking couples into Sandals. The vow renewal clients are some of the happiest people I work with. There is no stress about seating charts or vendor timelines or whether Uncle Dave will behave at the open bar. It is just two people who decided that their marriage is worth celebrating again. I love that.

Sandals makes this easy, and it does not cost what you think.

What the ReTie the Knot Package Includes

The Sandals vow renewal package is called ReTie the Knot, and it runs $400. That is the total, not per person.

For that $400 you get a personal planning team, a ceremony location at the resort, pre recorded music, a dendrobium orchid bouquet and boutonniere, white cushioned Chiavari chairs, a commemorative certificate, a one hour cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres and a sparkling wine toast, a signature cocktail, a single tier cake, a honeymoon dinner with sparkling wine, a mimosa breakfast on the morning of your choice, a 5x7 photo print and keepsake gift, and 15% off select Red Lane Spa services.

You also get a free anniversary return night on a future visit when you book seven nights or more in a Club or Butler level room.

For $400, try finding anything comparable at home. You cannot.

Who This Is For

Anniversary milestone couples are the obvious answer. I book a lot of these for 10th, 15th, 20th, and 25th anniversaries. But I have also booked them for couples celebrating five years, couples whose original wedding was small or rushed, and couples who simply want to do something meaningful together.

One of my favorite bookings was a couple who eloped during COVID with nobody present. Two years later, they did a vow renewal at Sandals Grande St. Lucian with their parents and closest friends. The wife told me afterward that it felt like the wedding they never got to have.

I have also had couples bring their kids along (the kids stay at a nearby Beaches resort) and use the vow renewal as a way to include the whole family in something celebratory. The flexibility here is real.

Which Resort for a Vow Renewal

For a quiet, intimate renewal with just the two of you, Sandals Halcyon Beach in St. Lucia is my top pick. The beach is right there, the resort is small and personal, and the atmosphere already feels like a celebration of slowing down together.

For couples who want more energy and more dining options around their celebration, Sandals Grande St. Lucian gives you that peninsula setting with the Pitons behind you. If you want the photos to make people gasp, this is the one.

Sandals Dunn's River in Jamaica works well for couples who want to combine a vow renewal with an adventure trip. You can renew your vows on the beach one day and climb Dunn's River Falls the next. The contrast between the romantic and the adventurous is something Jamaica does better than anywhere else in the Sandals portfolio.

How the Day Works

Ceremonies are available Monday through Thursday between 9 AM and 2 PM. You work with the Sandals planning team before you arrive to choose your ceremony location, your cake flavor (vanilla, chocolate, Caribbean fruit, red velvet, carrot, or brownie), and the details of your reception.

On the day, you show up. The team has everything set. The ceremony itself is a symbolic renewal of your vows in whatever words you choose. There is no officiant required because it is not a legal ceremony, which means zero paperwork and zero stress.

After the ceremony, your cocktail reception starts immediately. Then you have the rest of the day to yourselves, with your honeymoon dinner that evening.

Making It Bigger

If you want to bring a group, the ReTie the Knot package covers up to five rooms and 10 people. Beyond that, you can upgrade to the Bliss or Epic wedding packages, which accommodate larger groups with expanded receptions and entertainment.

Some of my clients combine a vow renewal trip with a couples getaway for their friend group. Everyone books their own rooms, the couple does the ceremony, and the rest of the trip is a group vacation. It is one of the best ways to travel with friends and still have a meaningful reason to gather.

Why I Think More Couples Should Consider This

Weddings get all the attention. Anniversaries get a dinner reservation if you remember to book one. There is a gap there, and a vow renewal at Sandals fills it in a way that actually feels proportional to what your marriage means to you.

It does not have to be a big production. It does not have to involve 50 people. You and your partner, a beautiful beach, a ceremony that says "we would do this again," and a week in the Caribbean. That is enough. That is actually a lot.

If this sounds like something you and your partner have been circling around, even casually, I would love to help you figure out the right resort and timing.
